Starting from Hong Kong, Connecting with Global Partners
This event brought together many AWE members to witness AWE’s next stage of development and, through international networks, provide practical support and a stronger global narrative for Hong Kong enterprises.
For Hong Kong SMEs and family businesses, transformation is not simply a matter of adopting new ideas. It also requires the right tools, talent, expertise, partners and market connections. During the discussion, one member observed that Hong Kong’s SMEs are full of vitality, yet are navigating a challenging period of transformation—and expressed the hope that AWE could help create new opportunities for them.
This is precisely the role AWE is developing at this stage: starting from Hong Kong, connecting with global ecosystems and international knowledge partners, and bringing professional capabilities, practical experience and collaborative networks into the local context. AWE is not merely facilitating exchanges between the two sides. It is committed to building partnerships that translate international resources into knowledge and opportunities that Hong Kong enterprises can understand, apply, develop together and bring to wider attention. AWE’s role as a Proof-of-Concept platform for connecting Greater Bay Area enterprises with international markets is central to this approach.
Bringing International Experience to Hong Kong
AWE is gradually building partnerships with international organisations across areas including ESG assessment, knowledge sharing, professional tools, impact investment networks and cross-market collaboration.
The objective is not to transplant overseas models directly into Hong Kong. Instead, AWE, its members and knowledge partners work together to adapt international experience to the local context. This includes aligning international impact assessment standards with local needs, helping enterprises strengthen their ability to articulate their impact, and turning international knowledge into practice through thematic events, learning programmes, leadership development and co-creation projects.
AWE is also focused on turning exchange into practical resources and collaboration opportunities for businesses. The AT ONE IMPACT WEEK 2026 delegation, with more than 30 AWE members, reflects this direction.
For AWE members, joining IMPACT WEEK is not only about broadening perspectives. It is also an opportunity for Hong Kong businesses to identify their role in the well-being economy, connect with international practitioners, build partnerships, and bring new insights back to Hong Kong.
As one member noted, a single business can rarely create a meaningful impact alone. Through AWE, members can share Hong Kong business practices internationally while drawing on global expertise and networks to explore markets, professional support and collaboration opportunities. When these resources are brought back to the community, individual experiences can grow into collective action.
